What is your current job?
Junior Graphic Designer.
What sort of work are you doing?
The work I do is varied which is great for the learning experience and for my personal portfolio. Things I work on include corporate identity and stationary, posters, brochures and leaflets, retail visuals and some packaging. One of our
major clients is The Body Shop.
What sort of deadlines do you work to?
Anywhere from half a day and to a number of weeks depending on the scale of the job.
What do you love about Graphic Design?
I love the diversity, working with other designers who I can learn from, as well as giving and receiving creative feedback.
What do you find inspiring?
Inspiration can come from anywhere as design is so broad. I take inspiration from other creative fields like illustration, the natural environment, patterns. Anything at all, I don't need to look to far.
How has Shillington helped you gain employment?
Studying at Shillington was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time. I took a gamble to leave my job to study full time and it paid off. I was able to develop a new portfolio that was relevant to the industry and show my skills as a designer both creatively as well as my practical skills. I learnt so much in such a short time and found I had the confidence to talk about the design programs and the creative process with ease.
