What is your current job?
Graphic Designer.
What sort of work are you doing?
The majority of the printed marketing material for the company.
What sort of deadlines do you work to?
Deadlines are generally pretty good for me. However it all depends on what it is I am working on. For larger projects I like to give myself at least a week because at the same time I am working on other jobs. My time management and organisational skill always have to be top notch.
What do you love about Graphic Design?
I love the freedom it gives me to explore my imagination, the challenges it puts before me but most importantly the utter satisfaction I feel when I successfully complete a challenging brief.
What do you find inspiring?
I really love well worked illustrations, abstract and line work art. But honestly I find a lot things inspiring, whether it be the type treatment in magazines, fashion, photography, a lot of things really. I guess the way I see it, if you take the time to look outside the norm and open your mind most things around us can be a source of inspiration.
How has Shillington helped you gain employment?
Since my current employer put me through the course, I didn't need to gain employment. But what Shillington taught me was to look outside the box in order to bring my design ability to whole new level. Learning the design principles and processes enhanced my skills ten fold.
