What is your role?
Graphic Design Assistant.
What sort of work are you doing?
Studio Woo is a company that works predominately in fashion. We work with fashion labels and companies to develop their brands and products, art directing photo shoots and any print and media for the label. My role has involved developing logos, mocking up packaging designs, creating shop front window displays, and creating style guides as well as coming up with concepts for season launches and products.
What sort of deadlines do you work to?
Because we work so closely with each label and cover a large range of their design needs, our deadlines can be anywhere from a day to two months.
What do you love about Graphic Design?
I love the ability to make something aesthetically pleasing. Its completely unique and original and keeps your mind in tune to think outside the box.
What do you find inspiring?
Well Japan is my biggest inspiration, everything about it just blows my mind. The colors, the chaos and the plain freakishness of the country. There's something about it that you can't help but love.
How has Shillington helped you gain employment?
Shillington was great, I mean it's largely thanks to them that I got a job so fast! They taught me how to present my work in a professional manner and throughout the course they would help us produce quality work that was very similar to what you would expect to be doing in the industry.
